Tierra de Esperanza Foundation
Tierra de Esperanza is a non-profit foundation created in 1997 with the intended purpose to support, protect and defend children and adolescents in situations of socioeconomic distress against injustices and disproportionate loss of opportunities. Tierra de Esperanza works closely with children and adolescents, their families and their support systems with the ultimate goal of enhancing strengths and overcoming weaknesses that hinder the full exercise of their rights. En la actualidad, Tierra de Esperanza atiende a más de 5 mil niños, niñas y jóvenes a través de sus más de 90 programas ubicados desde Iquique a Puerto Montt. Tierra de Esperanza works with more than five thousand children and adolescents through its 90+ programs located from Iquique to Puerto Montt. Tierra de Esperanza receives both private and public funding, the latter being the largest contributor. Most of this funding comes from the Chile’s National Service of Drug and Alcohol Consumption Prevention and Rehabilitation (SENDA), the National Service for Minors (SENAME), the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Development. These programs are developed by more than a thousand personnel including psychologists, medics, lawyers, sociologists, social workers, professors, monitors and administrators and many more..
Mission
Tierra de Esperanza is a Chilean foundation, created with the goal of defending the rights of vulnerable and marginalized children, regardless of their ethnicity, religion or political ideology. Tierra de Esperanza work with the families and communities of children to provide them with specialized attention. They are committed to ensuring an optimal quality of life that ultimately allows under-resourced children with the ability to achieve their goals, and support the development of their desired future.
